Born in Hamburg in 1979; studied acting at the Bern University of the Arts.
First permanent engagements followed at Theater Basel and Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus.
From 2009 to 2019, he was permanently employed at Schauspiel Hannover, regularly working with Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, Alexander Eisenach, Heike M. Goetze, Mina Salehpour and Lars-Ole Walburg.
2019 to 2021, Daniel Nerlich was an ensemble member at the Volksbühne Berlin.
Productions were created with Alexander Eisenach, Thor Arnarsson and Lucia Bihler.
He has been working freelance since 2021, both as actor and composer. Since then he appeared as King Lear in Lucerne, took on further roles at Schauspiel Hannover and Schauspiel Köln.
He also scored the German-language Premiere of ROB at the Schiffahrtsmuseum Mainz, directed by Wolfgang Menardi.
Dan worked at Schauspielhaus Bochum- as both player and live musician in the German-language premiere of the novel Am laufenden Band, directed by Tom Schneider and, most recently did sound concept and composing for the production Frankenstein, directed by Tom Schneider.
He regularly teaches acting at the University of the Arts Hannover. He is specialized on basic acting and improvisation.
Daniel composes for theatre plays and develops sound concepts.
